The Event

Planned for October 3-5, 2009, the Lobethal Grand Carnival,
to be conducted by Vintage Motorsport Carnivals Pty Ltd., and assisted by SA Tourism and the Adelaide Hills Council, will be run in conjunction with Sporting Car Club of SA Inc, Motorcycling SA Inc and under the rules of demonstration events in accord with CAMS and MA guidelines.

The format is for full-lap, closed road demonstrations on the original 8.65 mile (14km) Lobethal Race Circuit over the October weekend.

Racing and competition sports cars and motorcycles, predominantly of the 1938-1948 period, will take once more to what has been regarded as Australia's greatest-ever motor racing circuit, some 60 years after the last event in 1948, and a healthy 70 years after the inaugural South Australian GP of 1938.
